Regional Marine Planning

E-mail received by Carrick Castle Boat Club on 12th February 2016 from The Scottish Government:-

Dear Stakeholder

As you are likely to have an interest in marine planning, we are writing to update you on the progress made in developing regional marine planning and provide you with more information.

Boundaries to 11 Scottish Marine Regions were established in May 2015 by the Scottish Marine Regions Order 2015.  Regional Marine Plans will be developed by Marine Planning Partnerships made up of local stakeholders.  The Clyde and Shetland Isles Marine Regions will be the first areas to develop statutory regional marine plans.

Public notices of the proposed nomination of the delegates to take forward regional marine planning in the Clyde and Shetland Isles have been posted in The Herald and The Shetland Times in the Friday 12th February editions.   The draft  Ministerial Directions are also available online with supporting information notes.  We would welcome your comments on the proposed delegates and draft Directions, via this email address or by post to Regional Marine Planning Team, Marine Scotland, Scottish Government, Area 1A South, Victoria Quay, EH6 6QQ  by Thursday 10 March.

Kind Regards

Regional Marine Planning Team
